On generic frequency decomposition. Part 1: Vectorial decomposition
The famous Fourier theorem states that, under some restrictions, any periodic function (or real world signal) can be obtained as a sum of sinusoids, and hence, a technique exists for decomposing a signal into its sinusoidal components. From this theory an entire branch of research has flourished: from the Short-Time or Windowed Fourier Transform to the Wavelets, the Frames, and lately the Gener...
متن کاملLinearly dependent vectorial decomposition of clutters
This paper deals with the question of completing a monotone increasing family of subsets Γ of a finite set Ω to obtain the linearly dependent subsets of a family of vectors of a vector space. Specifically, we demonstrate that such vectorial completions of the family of subsets Γ exist and, in addition, we show that the minimal vectorial completions of the family Γ provide a decomposition of the...
متن کاملBalanced 0, ±1 Matrices Part I. Decomposition
A 0; 1 matrix is balanced if, in every square submatrix with two nonzero entries per row and column, the sum of the entries is a multiple of four. This paper extends the decomposition of balanced 0; 1 matrices obtained by Conforti, Cornu ejols and Rao to the class of balanced 0; 1 matrices. As a consequence, we obtain a polynomial time algorithm for recognizing balanced 0; 1 matrices.
متن کاملMultiresolution Signal Decomposition Schemes . Part 1
Interest in multiresolution techniques for signal processing and analysis is increasing steadily. An important instance of such a technique is the so-called pyramid decomposition scheme. This report proposes a general axiomatic pyramid decomposition scheme for signal analysis and synthesis. This scheme comprises the following ingredients: (i) the pyramid consists of a (finite or infinite) numbe...
متن کاملOn the Wavelet Frequency Decomposition Method
A wavelet variation of the Frequency decomposition multigrid method of Hackbusch is presented. The perfect reconstruction property of the wavelet system enable us to perform the convergence analysis of the frequency decomposition method. Some applications of this method are also presented.
